Short biography

I obtained a BA in translation at the Département de langues, linguistique et traduction of Laval University in Quebec. Then, I obtained an MA and a Ph.D. in linguistics. My MA dissertation dealt with the terminology of automatic speech processing. In my Ph.D., I characterized the grammatical features of verbs in scientific texts.

After a few years in the private sector, I was recruited by the Département de linguistique et de traduction at the University of Montreal in 1994. I developed and lecture courses dealing mainly with translation technology, terminology and languages for specific purposes.

I have been a member of the Observatoire de linguistique Sens-Texte (OLST) since 1997, which I headed between 2005 and 2015. I have been the co-editor-in-chief of the journal Terminology since 2000.
