My research aims at modelling the specialized lexicon with lexical semantics models and methodologies. This work is based on the hypothesis that the lexicon analyzed from the point of view of specialized subject fields (more specifically computing and the environment) is structured. Lexical semantics frameworks, such as Explanatory Combinatorial Lexicology and Frame Semantics allow us to unveil this structure and to make it explicit. Three resources – the DiCoEnviro, the DiCoInfo and the Framed DicoEnviro – are implementations of research carried out by my group. I am also interested in applying methods from natural language processing (NLP) to terminology work.
