New events

Lexicography & Terminology at Observatoire de linguistique Sens-Texte (LexTerm2010) :

The OLST organizes a series of activities around lexicography and terminology in June:

  • Presentations by foreign scholars visiting the OLST
  • Presentations of resources and tools developed at OLST
  • Presentations of doctoral researchers of OLST.

Kickoff of the Texto4Science projet at OLST:

The project Texto4Science led by Patrick Drouin (OLST) and Philippe Langlais (DIRO) from the University of Montreal (in collaboration with the University of Ottawa and Simon Fraser University) focuses on the study of text messages (or SMS messages) and the language they convey. The project concentrates on the French SMS (Phase 1) while the second phase will target English SMS in 2010. Texto4Science is part of an international project named sms4science coordinated by CENTAL (Center of Language Processing, Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium).

Annual scientific event of the Association pour le Traitement
Automatique des Langues
(ATALA).
The 17th edition will be held at the University of Montreal. The OLST is proud to be closely associated with the event.
