As the number of liberated users grows, PCs are networked to form Local Area Networks (LANs) - initially for convenience and to share resources, now to create workgroups and develop mission-critical applications.

Next you choose a name for your PC, such as HOMESERVER, followed by a workgroup name, say WORKGROUP - as seen in Fig 3, this must be the same for all PCs on the network.

In my work, I have come across a situation wherein Windows NT has been introduced into a workgroup without prior training and proper assignment of responsibility.

It's actually the software you run that determines if a PC is a server or a "workstation".

One question I have is, what operating system are you running on the workstations that have two network interfaces?

A worm is a travelling virus. Most common are e-mail worms, which infect a computer, read the address book and send out e-mails without the senders knowledge, infecting the recipients.
